DAC hosted two great events in October that were developed to provide the public with information on options for living at home. The event on October 9th in Moscow was a day of education and music that included bands, songwriters, dancers, representatives for in-home care agencies, and informational presentations. The Palouse Mall provided a stage, the use of a storefront, and not to mention patience with our decorating ideas!
Perhaps because of the football games at the U of I and WSU, the attendance did not quite meet our hopes. However, we will be sure to keep the game schedule in mind for next year.
The second event was at the Senior Center in Coeur d’Alene and, as in Moscow, included educational booths and informative presentations. Everything was very organized and looked lovely. Several door prizes and goodies were given away. A health fair, sponsored by NIC, was held on the same weekend.
I would like to thank all of those who helped us with our events, including volunteers, board members, and staff. I would further like to offer a special thanks to the following individuals and groups who provided their services for free: Lisa Simpson; KC James; Dancing Trout; Palouse Folklore Society; Blackberry Jam, who provided a sound board; Boogie Doctors; Mark Lesko; and Jarod Reeve with Mercury Fallen, who operated the sound board. <>
