Lex Frieden, Chairperson, National Council on Disability, Sr. VP, TIRR, and Director of the ILRU Program will present “The History and the Future of the Americans with Disabilities Act” Web cast on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 3:00pm Eastern; 2:00pm Central; 1:00pm Mountain; 12:00pm Pacific; 11:00am Alaska; 9:00am Hawaii.

From 1984 to 1988, Mr. Frieden served as Executive Director of the National Council on the Handicapped (now the National Council on Disability). In this capacity, he was instrumental in conceiving and drafting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Lex Frieden will discuss the historical implications of the landmark legislation signed into law 15 years ago. He will reflect on the early days of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the effects it has had on improving the lives of people with disabilities and his vision on the ADA’s future, by providing insight on how to build on the important foundations established by the ADA.
